ALCAR, TUDCA and lithium+valproate have each been trialled in PALS with preliminary outcomes that they seem to slow the disease progression by about 10 %. Would be really interesting to see a trial where all of these would be fed to the same individuals.
Would we see
-no clear sign of slowing down, indicating that the prior trials were faulty
-slowing down around 10 %, indicating that different substances work on different PALS or that their combined effect saturates
-slowing down around 30 %, indicating that they effect through different mechanisms
-slowing down more than 30 %, indicating synergistic effect and the first useful medication for ALS
